Sacrificed

This is my painting of my relationship with the girl in my other drawing titled Mere Dil, which means "my heart" in Hindi (being a bit brown I had to for romanticism or to be pretencious..wait its art...nothing is pretencious...or...ok im getting distracted...ahem...). I found a picture i took of her looknig up in red lighting. So I sketched it on canvas and then painted over it. It was durring a time when we were going through the "it's not working what do we do when we don't know what to do" phase. So I never knew how to finish it. It sat and chilled until on night over a stupid heart-hurting talk over the phone, i finished it in an hour with the red and the blue heart. The painting depicts how it felt and why it didn't work between us for me. It helped me to let go.
I gave the painting away to a friend who was helping me at that time. I finished it and i didn't need to reflect on it anymore, but to move on. The moral is to not sacrifice yourself too much to the point where you sacrifice your individual respect and personality with all your heartfelt morals and beliefs.
This was finished sometime in Summer of 2006

medium: Oil on canvas, 18x30inches...i can't remember now...i will update it once i see that same canvas on sale from where i bought it from for the right dimensions.
